I Just Graduated! - What's Next?

Updated: Apr 6

For those of you who do not know, I just graduated from college!!! I am happy to say that as of this past weekend, I now have a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and dietetics from The University of Texas at Austin. As I wrap up this chapter of my life, many people have asked me about my plans for the future. I figured I would use this blog to briefly fill you in on what I will be doing next.

I Just graduated! - What's next?

This summer I will be moving from Austin to Denton, Texas where I will attend graduate school at Texas Woman's University. I will be taking classes for my master's degree in nutrition as well as completing 6.5 months of supervised practice (called a Dietetic Internship) to work towards my license as a registered dietitian (stay tuned for my next blog post to learn the difference between a registered dietitian and a nutritionist). During my dietetic internship, I will be working in hospitals, community nutrition centers, foodservice establishments, private practices, and more. Once I have completed the dietetic internship, I will finish up any classes I have left for my master's degree and study for the national registration exam for dietitians.

I can't begin to express my gratitude for all the support you have given me since launching this website two years ago. My dream is to continue growing My Healthful Life so that I can eventually turn it into a private practice. It is definitely a challenge trying to grow a business while still a student, working part-time, and maintaining a social life, but hearing from you guys about how much you learned from a post or loved one of my recipes makes it worth all the hard work! So please... keep reaching out!!! I absolutely love hearing from y'all and answering your questions.

Stay tuned this summer because I will finally not be taking any classes, so I am hoping to post a lot more! I have so many exciting things planned that I can't wait to share with all of you!
